Hate those shoes that easily drops off midsole or outsole after few months of duty. Graphic below just an example to show which part is midsole, outsole and lug.

Have been tried out different brands of sport shoes, Salomon (France) and Timberland (United States) are the best for me to date. The quality, performance and durability are incredible on these shoes, although price tag is at the high side.
a) Salomon XR Crossmax1 Neutral
This is my all time favorite shoe. It is a great pair for door to trail runners, super light weight and very comfortable consider it as a trail running shoes too. The soles are great for gripping on more technical portions of the trail, both up and down hill.
Unique Quiklace system really help, especially for people that lazy to tie up shoes. One-pull tightening down and doesn’t need to border it will loose again. Although not as much protection as XT Hawks, but it is more lively and lighter than the Hawk.
b) Salomon XT Hawk
I assume this is the predecessor of XR Crossmax. Since XR Crossmax started to release, XT Hawks 2 stopped production and the Hawk series is disappeared now. As both of the series are same group of trail shoes that is blurring the line between traditional trail running shoes and road running shoes.
XT Wings and XT Hawk looks very alike, similar outlook, same sole and lug design, i was confused at first. So, the difference between XT Hawk and XT Wings is that the Hawk features a lighter version of the Agile Chassis System (ACS lite) thus reducing the weight of the shoe over the Wing, and making the Hawk the lightest trail running shoe Salomon has to offer.
Bought the shoes from World of Ooutdoors, The Gardens for more than a year. The condition is still ok, the only thing is that the sole starting to shrink due to heavy duty (half marathon, rain, hill run). So i get a new XR Crossmax from the same place.
c) Timberland 57166
Ledge Low Greige Waterproof Leather Shoe with Gore-Tex Membrane, accompanied me to numbers of hikes, includes Mount Kinabalu, Gunung Ledang, Gunung Irau, Gunung Kutu and many smaller hills. Bought it from Timberland at Mid Valley, 4 years to date and it still going strong. Look at the material on it, this shoe is definitely build for last. Product Overview:
