Caught a chance to join Ricoh Jalan & Cari Makan event held by DSC World Sdn Bhd and 223 GO event company on Sunday Dec 28th 2013, placed at The Annexe Gallery, Central Market Annexe. Instead of using my own Pentax K-30, the event organisers prepared us the new Ricoh GR for outdoor shooting.
I have applied “Cross Process” from Ricoh GR’s built-in effects for all the pictures here. Other effects include: Black&White, B&W(TE), High Contrast B&W, Positive Film, Bleach Bypass, Retro, Miniaturize, High Key.
All the photos uploaded here are taken with Hi-quality JPEG mode on Ricoh GR and straight out from camera without post editing.
Ricoh GR key specifications
with small size and light weight, it is ideal camera for street photography. I have previously used a Ricoh GX200, Ricoh GR is a very big improved with similar control interface that allow me enjoy taking photos with it.
Electronic level indicator in Ricoh GR helps a lots on levelling the balance while composing image above.
“The TAv mode (shutter and aperture priority AE mode), which was traditionally only included on Pentax brand DSLR cameras, is now included as an exposure mode. In this mode, the ISO speed is automatically adjusted according to your preferred aperture and shutter speed settings. With these features, expressive performance is available that only a GR with vastly improved high-sensitivity qualities can deliver.” (Ricoh)
With start-up time 1.0 sec and shut-down time of 1.0 sec, chance of missed out interesting shots is lower and higher percentage of succeed candid as image above.
