Accidentally splashed drinking water on laptop keyboard’s number pad, after cleaned out water on it, windows still works okay but random alphabet error appeared after sometime, such as: typing “l” will give “l7”. Tried to restart, but it failed to boot in Windows 7 by producing sound of “beep beep beep…” continuously.
Done some searching and it was water immerse into parts below keyboard water that caused boot failure. I checked out my acer warranty over here: https://www.acer-apac.com/acer_web/, it shows the laptop still within warranty period. I sent it to Highpoint Low Yat Plaza for repair, unfortunately, according to the staff, keyboard is not included within warranty parts, it cost RM 120 to replace a new keyboard. It takes 2 working days to get it fixed but waited four days for my case (22 May – 25 May) since there is public holiday and weekend in between. Multiple SMS were sent to my phone on repairing progress, which is very helpful for client without the need to calling-in. As image below,
