Stick Insect (Phasmida): The Walking Sticks

Saw a walking stick bug with size of a hand on the hill yesterday. The bug hold in a same position for few minutes when i’m getting near to it. It just won’t move a single bit until i moved away for some distance, ran back to shot a video when it get in action again.

The Phasmatodea (sometimes called Phasmida or Phasmatoptera) are an order of insects, whose members are variously known as stick insects (in Europe and Australasia), walking sticks or stick-bugs (in the United States and Canada), phasmids, ghost insects and leaf insects (generally the family Phylliidae).
